Drafted on Dribbble

After signing up as a prospect and hunting for an invite I was finally drafted on dribbble.com. Dribbble is an invite only community that markets itself as a “Show and tell for designers.” It’s a great website for getting inspiration and keeping up to date with trends in design and allows users to connect with designers all over the world to share knowledge and find collaborators.

The allure of being part of the Dribbble community is that membership is limited and new users are not allowed to upload work until they are invited. This model helps to ensure that the standard of quality for the work posted remains high. In order for new users to become full members of the community, Dribbble sends invitations to existing members which they can then use to invite new members to the community. Getting a Dribbble invite can seem impossible unless you know what you are doing and are willing to make the effort. Luckily, as a quick search reveals, there are already countless articles offering advice on how to get invited. My simple advice would be to focus on creating a portfolio and an online presence that showcases your work in the best possible light.

As a creative individual, expanding your audience and social media presence requires a significant amount of time and dedication. Simply producing and sharing exceptional design work does not guarantee that it will reach a wide audience. To effectively grow your audience and expand your reach, it is essential to communicate your unique story.

I am excited to be part of the Dribbble community and share my work with the world. You can view my Dribbble profile at dribbble.com/zachmaudesign
